DHS Social Caseworker Generalist

The Social Caseworker Generalist provides intake and/or ongoing casework services for a variety of program areas such as child abuse and neglect cases and youth in conflict cases. May also provide for the provision of ancillary services such as recruitment and supervision of foster care homes, placement of clients into foster and day care homes and institutions, emergency on-call availability and response, arrangement for and monitoring of core services, transportation for clients and family to promote successful completion of treatment plans, and information and referral services. This position requires contact with legal, medical, psychiatric/psychological professionals, members of the judicial system, community organizations and resources, foster parents, and other members of the agency for the purpose of developing effective treatment plans for clients and to help clients solve problems, as well as to educate the community about protection of clients and services available. DHS Youth Program Coordinator

The position of Youth Program Coordinator requires an individual that is well-versed in connecting with youth and passionate about elevating youth voice in the community. This position requires the use of skills derived from the Positive Youth Development (PYD) framework and focuses on addressing risk factors and promoting protective factors within our youth population. The work this position will be involved in is rooted in prevention programming such as Botvin Lifeskills Training (LST) as well as Toward No Drug Abuse (TND). This worker will also be a leading part of outreach efforts centered on youth challenged by housing instability. This position will require the consistent use of creative thinking while utilizing programs such as Rural Collaborative to support youth toward stability. A portion of this position will involve case management regarding resources youth are enrolled in and receiving to ensure that goals are being set and achieved. The Program Coordinator must be collaborative not only with youth but also with partners in the community, particularly school districts, where LST is implemented. This position is responsible for the youth council and coaching youth advisors. This position will also be charged with the development and management of Voice Council. The position is responsible for recruitment and retention of clients with lived experience who will serve on the council to promote improvement in our local health and human services system. Deputy Treasurer

The Deputy Treasurer performs a variety of activities for the Treasurer's Office in the maintenance of the tax and financial collection for the County. DHS Core Services Worker/Case Aide

Duties of this position include supervise visits, life skills and in-home preservation work, interacting with families and providing community-based service referrals. This position works one on one with clients to meet their goals on a treatment plan. Position provides services to new intake and/or ongoing core services families for a variety of program areas such as child abuse and neglect cases, youth in conflict cases. The Core Services position provides administrative support for the child welfare, and foster care programs. It will also be back up for referral screening, assisting with recording case documentation, coordinating department meetings and overall support for the department. Motor Vehicle Deputy Clerk

Under general supervision, the Motor Vehicle Deputy Clerk performs a variety of clerical and customer service work, which ensures compliance with statutes and mandates that govern motor vehicle regulations for accurate titling and/or registering vehicles in Chaffee County. Work is performed in the Buena Vista branch, however, may need to work in the Salida office on occasion. OEM Tech

Under the supervision of the Emergency Manager, the OEM Tech oversees and performs a variety of office, maintenance, and operational duties relating to the operations of the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) and the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Supports the Emergency Manager with scheduled work shifts and tasks, as well as assigned non-scheduled work shifts and tasks. Must be able to work a flexible schedule and one that varies if an emergency event arises on any day of the week. This position is part time, hourly for approximately 20 hours per week. The wage range is $22 to $25 per hour, DOQ. This position is eligible for sick time accrual of 1 hour per 30 hours of work, with a maximum of 48 hours, as required by the Colorado Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA), and may be eligible to participate in the retirement plan, if participation requirements are met. Noxious Weed Program Seasonal Worker

The Chaffee County Noxious Weed Program Seasonal Worker will perform a variety of field and office duties associated with noxious weed management in Chaffee, Lake and surrounding counties. Documents all field activities, maintains daily records, develops and maintains mapping data. Provides landowner assistance and interacts with a variety of local, state and federal agencies. This position is part time, nonexempt, hourly and seasonal with a wage range of $18.00/hour to $22.00/hour, DOQ. Weed Management Assistant Supervisor

The Chaffee County Weed Management Assistant Supervisor supports the Weed Management Program Manager to enforce the Colorado Noxious Weed Control Act and performs office and field duties associated with noxious weed management in Chaffee, Lake, and surrounding counties. The Assistant Supervisor provides expert advice and assistance regarding Integrated Weed Management (IWM) practices and related activities. Maintains proper permits, documents field operations, maintains daily, weekly, monthly, and annual records, writes grants, prepares reports, develops, and maintains maps/mapping databases. Supervises seasonal employees and provides landowner assistance and public interaction in a variety of settings. Maintains working relationships with local, state, federal and other agencies, in addition to private landowners. Road Department Operator I

Chaffee County BOCC and the Road Department are accepting applications for 2 full-time Operator I positions. This position is responsible for building and maintaining County roads and bridges.  Minimum requirements include High School diploma or equivalent, valid CO CDL, Class B license and 3 years' experience driving truck with opportunity to advance to Operator II. Work schedule is 4 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday with possible overtime.  Applicant must pass a pre-employment range & motion screening as well as a CDOT drug screening; must be registered with FMCSA Clearinghouse. This position is nonexempt hourly with a wage range of $23.08/hour to $24.04/hour. Detentions Deputy

Chaffee County Sheriff's office is hiring for a full-time Detentions Deputy.  Must be at least 18 years old. This position requires varying shifts and ability to work weekends and some holidays.  Duties include supervision and care of inmates as well as case management.
