Public Meeting Policies and Procedures

On September 10, 2019 the Chaffee County Commissioners adopted the Public Meeting Policies and Procedures.  The purpose of this document is to ensure consistency, uniformity and efficiency in scheduling agenda items for public meetings of the Commissioners and to ensure public hearing boards and the public have sufficient time to become informed about public hearing items.

Guide to Speaking at Public Meetings

The public is encouraged to attend and provide testimony at public hearings.  An audio recording is usually available from the public hearing.  Some public hearings and meetings are streamed live.  For information on speaking at public hearings you may refer to the Guide to Speaking at Public Meetings.

Conflict of Interest Policy

The citizens of Chaffee County are entitled to have an ethical, open and accountable local government.  the purpose of this Conflict of Interest Policy is to provide guidance to the officials and employees of Chaffee County whenever questions of ethical conflict arise to ensure that Chaffee County government operates in a manner consistent with appropriate ethical principles and values

Ordinance 2006-02 Restricting Open Fires and Open Burning in the Unincorporated Areas of Chaffee County and Providing Penalties for Violation of Such Ordinance.

Right to Ranch Conflict Resolution Procedures

The Right to Ranch Conflict Resolution Procedures are adopted pursuant to Section 3.1.6 of the Chaffee County Land Use Code ("LUC") adopting a "Right to Farm and Ranch" policy and related land use standards and penalties and creating an agricultural land use conflict resolution program.  You may find more information regarding Right to Ranch at Right to Ranch.

Establishing the Chaffee County Citizens Advisory Committee

On November 6, 2018, Chaffee County voters approved Chaffee County Ballot Issue 1A which increased the countywide sales tax by .025%, from 2.5% to 2.75%, specifying that the revenues are to be used for strengthening forest health, conserving and supporting working ranches and farms and rural landscapes, and maintaining the impacts of growth.  The sales tax revenues and programs to be funded by such revenues are collectively referred to as "Chaffee County Common Ground".

Ordinance 2021-01 - For the Purpose of Extending the Temporary Ban on Certain Retail Marijuana Establishments in Unincorporated Portions of Chaffee County, Including Industrial Zones, subject to Certain Exceptions.

On August 7, 2012 the Board of Commissioners adopted Ordinance No. 2012-02 - "An Ordinance Modifying the Operations of Off-Highway Vehicles on Certain County Roads and Providing Penalties for Violation of Such Ordinance".
